Hunter is just fresh out of Harvard Medical school and is now just beginning his residency in Oncology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. His boss is Ava Harding, who just happens to be the new wife of Santana Lopez, both of which have recently moved to New York for Ava's job. Hunter was determined to become a doctor, and more specifically, an Oncologist, since going through the difficult time of watching his mother nearly losing a battle with cervical cancer when he was a child. Despite his father being high up in the US Army, Hunter always wanted to be a doctor and his determined ambition finally got him there. He is now working at the same clinic where Kurt Hummel is a patient and he is finding his world thrust back into his past without realising it.
He lives alone and hasn't really seriously dated in a long time. Not since his relationship that began back in Dalton with Sebastian Smyth ended abysmally. Sebastian ended it out of the blue after falling back into his old slutty ways, and Hunter never fought him on it. He just cut his losses and threw himself into college life... never speaking to Sebastian again since.

Hunter Clarington did get his Colorado Springs military school Glee Club to a Regionals win with Presidential Honours, but he never transferred to Dalton Academy following it. Dalton pitched him their offer, but he turned it down, deciding instead to graduate where he was so he could enlist in the Army upon graduation just like his father had. His first month as a qualified Sergeant after working his way up the ranks in his Artillery Tactics battalion and deployed to Afghanistan, and before the calendar had even turned pages, he was in the midst of a battle with the enemy forces where he had to shoot a man dead or be killed himself. It had affected him more than he thought possible... especially when he saved a guy in his troop from death by getting shot through the back into the hip himself during the same battle, only to have the same soldier blown up by a landmine two days later. It left Hunter without the use of his leg and he thought he would be crippled for life. He was given an honourable medical discharge from the forces, but left in a wheelchair and with psychological post-traumatic stress disorder. That was over six months ago now, and it had been a fantastic physical therapist, just newly qualified at the time, by the name of Santana Lopez who had helped him out of the wheelchair and able to walk short distances with the use of a stick now. But it was still very much a work in progress, though Hunter's psychological treatment had began to wane and he fell into a depression, which began to affect his physical development too.
It was when his therapist suggested a move or a change of scenery with a fresh start away from the drab post-service world he had gotten himself into in Washington. He was bemoaning the suggestion to his physical therapist one day when he was being really uncooperative even with her, and it was Santana who suggested Miami for a seachange. She had been considering moving there to start her own business away from the large clinic she had trained with because she had friends there, and suggested that if he made that his new location, she could continue his treatment and it wouldn't be a completely new everything for him. He thought about it for all of a week before he was selling his awful boring bachelor pad he had shoved himself into during his recuperation when he didn't want to go home to Colorado Springs, and with his mother's help, found a bright, airy and sunny beachside apartment that he signed for without even thinking about it. He had been here a month now, and Santana had continued his treatment as promised, though his mood continued on a low and flat keel.
Upon arriving in Miami, Hunter had just reached the six month anniversary of his physical treatment following the bad turn of events he had faced in Afghanistan. A few weeks into his new life in Florida, and he still couldn't decide whether he liked it or not. It was a seachange, and yes, there was a sea there with a beach, and heat, and seagulls that shat on things. He had an apartment within walking distance of the beach, but that was something he couldn't utilise yet. He still had more work to do before leisurely walks on the beach could be on his agenda. He wasn't going to serve in the Army again and even if his dad was still one of the highest ranking soldiers these days, Hunter felt like he had failed. A lot. It was a lot of what he was trying to work through with his therapy and the psychologist had been trying to coax him to thinking about taking up hobbies or studying something new, but so far it was a hurdle Hunter wasn't ready to face while he was still relatively on the disabled side with a lot of things.
In Love In London ||

Despite knowing inside for many years he was gay, Hunter never came out of the closet. He kept up the facade all along that he was straight, even when he went to Dalton, save for revealing to one person - one Sebastian Smyth. When they were at Dalton together, they started a secret friends-with-benefits arrangement and even now in their mid twenties, it is still going. At least, it has been until it might be about to blow up in their faces. Whilst at Dalton, Hunter met Marley Rose, and they started a somewhat traditional courtship. Marley's mom was smitten with Hunter being the typical polite well-to-do guy, and in turn, Hunter's parents believe Marley was a lovely match for their son. With Hunter's sexuality completely under wraps, Hunter went along with it and when he enlisted in the US Airforce, Marley wanted to get married before he went away. He agreed to keep his secret, but the marriage was never a happy one. Marley didn't believe in divorce, though, and Hunter didn't know if he could ever tell her the truth. Their sex life was non-existence and all the while, he continued to sleep with Sebastian if they were ever in the same location at the same time.
Hunter soon qualified as a fighter pilot and was deployed to be based in England. Marley had no choice but to go with him, but she wasn't happy about. They fought a lot, she continued to refuse to get help for her eating disorder on and off, and she started to drink. Meanwhile, Sebastian arrived in London to help out his best friend, Santana Lopez, and also to visit his twin who was a Nanny in the city. He and Hunter began hooking up on the regular and it was almost like an addiction for Hunter to be able to indulge in his true feelings and be himself with Sebastian. At least, that was until Marley abruptly announced she was pregnant and Hunter had no idea how it happened because their marriage was basically sexless at this point with Hunter the epitome of a workaholic. She told him they both got drunk one night he was home from the base and that was when it happened. Hunter had no choice but to tell Sebastian what happened. Sebastian told him to go fuck himself, and Hunter was left miserable, alone and scared without a clue of what to do beyond stick by his wife and hopefully be a good father.
New York Noire ||

Hunter's brush with steroids in his senior year whilst at Dalton turned out to be the epitome of a bad mistake in his life. After the investigation, he ended up having to do a couple of months in juvie, which really changed him. What he brushed with on the inside hardened him up, and with his already ambitious and determined take-no-shit streak, it forced him into the realms of what one would describe a typical "bad boy". What juvie didn't do, however, was cure his 'roid addiction. As soon as he was out, he was finding ways to get it again. His criminal record meant he lost his chance of getting into Ivy League college and also into the military, so he had no choice but to accept a place at studying Music at Brooklyn College of Music in New York.
He didn't go back to his family in Colorado Springs after juvie. He finished school inside and only just brushed the grade point average he needed for college, and went directly to New York. His attitude often got him in trouble and New York was like another drug to be addicted to. He found himself soon regularly crossing the path of Molly Pierce, a tough-as-nuts chick who more than knew her way around the less than savoury parts of New York. He had no idea who she was, but he liked to get up in her face a lot because she had this air about her that she thought she was better than him. If his presence irked her, he would make damn sure he was present and prominently so. One night, she actually cornered him in a shady bar - which he would only later realise was a huge Brujah hot spot in the City - and they actually had a decent conversation. He told her about his life, and what led him here, and when she offered to help get him a more reliable source for his steroids, they immediately forged some sort of odd connection.
At least, until a bit later when a bar brawl broke out and Hunter either caused it to flare up by insulting a badass Brujah or at least was in the middle of the whole thing. Inevitably, it wasn't a fight a young, hot-headed almost-twenty teenager (no matter how street-smart he was) was going to succeed with. He found himself shoved out into the back street behind the bar and knifed right in the stomach where he was left to bleed to death. Four days later, he reawakened as a Brujah Kindred with Molly sitting on the bed beside giving him an 'I told you so' look. Despite knowing nothing about Kindred or The Masquerade, Hunter thrived in it right off the bat. Molly made him swore to secrecy to not tell anyone he was Embraced against his will, which he did, and understood why it had to be. She was hot shit in the City, like a Kindred politician or something. Hunter was just fascinated with the new world and has now grown to become quite a savvy and strong Kindred... albeit, still a cocky and self-assured pain in the ass, with a very big sister/little brother relationship forging between him and Molly. He's now a starring act on Broadway, where he got the lead role by feeding on the casting director and them wiping his mind to make him forget he rejected Hunter for the part. Turns out, though, Hunter was made for Broadway superstardom. He quit college, and spends his time performing or doing whatever the hell he feels like it in his spare time.
